I am terribly sorry that I delayed this post and part 2 of the previous post. I am gonna continue with it all at once.

1) The Birthday Party

The Birthday gal 🙂

Birthday gal and I

I want to start to document this process in my blog, to remember the moment!
When I learnt from Kar Wai that my mentor Alecia birthday was coming up, I yearn to plan a surprise birthday party for her. I have always wished that people could plan a surprise party for me but it never came true anyway.

Anyway, as I was saying planning a surprise birthday party can be really fun and interesting. I was really determined to make it a success to achieve the surprise that I imagined it to be. It requires coordination from everyone in the group too.

Of course, I was also waiting to see the reaction on my mentor face, the expression was totally priceless and I really feel that our effort has paid off.

Of course I don’t claim credit for all that I done because without the help of my group members, this celebration wouldn’t be possible.
Thanks to all Group 1 members, Berdanette, Poi Wong. Swee Heng & Safiah and not forgetting our dearest Kar Wai! Thanks to the cooperation of the mentors also, to not reveal the secret.

My lovely Group 1

I am feeling apprehensive at first cause first I didn’t know if it was going to be a success a not? Secondly, I didn’t know if there will be last minute changes (e.g Alecia not turning up)

For me, The surprise was probably one of the Highlights of the day. Was really excited and upon presenting the surprise to Alecia, it just feel so satisfied to see her reactions and happiness.

After the celebration, we started getting down to work and start cracking- Brainstorming for ideas for our main exhibition. It was fun and once we started to think, the ideas flow freely but when I got home it is back to square one again cause I am stuck. Gonna start brainstorming after this post.

In conclusion, it was a SUCCESS! Cheers!

2) Photogram Session In Arts Science Museum

As promised, I am back with part 2 of the trip to Arts Science Museum (ASM).
I am here to share on the workshop: Having fun with Photogram.
What is Photogram?
Answer: Photogram is the process of taking photographs without a camera, it only placing objects on a light sensitive paper and after that we get to develop it by dipping it into different solutions before we get our images. Click Here to know all about the science behind Photogram.

The trainer also shared with us a technique known as Camera Obscura which according to how I understand was to transform our room to somehow like a pinhole camera. Click HERE to watch the video of how it is actually done.

My Photogram

It was a rather challenging activity as we had to arrange our objects in the dark and for me it is quite daunting and thus I have to depend on my other senses to complete the activity. Good job!
In conclusion, I am actually enjoying every photography session and look forward to every session as this is a very unique experience and Kar Wai is right about one thing.
“Don’t Worry Agnes, You are in good hands” Indeed I am thanks for the people who are looking after me! I am loving and enjoying the love, thanks peeps!!
